Telco Data becomes integrated in fully-financed ice
Oslo, 6 March 2014 – The winner of the Norwegian Post and Telecommunications Authority’s 4G auctions, Telco Data AS, has been re-named Ice Communication Norge AS and become the sister company of of Ice Norge AS, which runs the mobile broadband business ice.net. Additionally, its parent company has raised SEK 1.5 billion in the bond market to finance ambitious plans in Norway.
“These changes provide an indication of which direction we would like to go with Ice in Norway. We are now fully funded to realize the exciting and ambitious options we are currently evaluating,” says Eivind Helgaker, MD of Ice Norge AS (ice.net). Helgaker will also assume the role as MD of Ice Communication Norge AS (formerly Telco Data AS).
Both Ice Communication Norge AS and Ice Norge AS (ice.net) will continue to operate as wholly owned subsidiaries of the newly formed parent company AINMT Scandinavia Holdings AB*. ice.net is also pleased to announce that Ingvild Myhre will become chairman of the Norwegian companies. AINMT Scandinavia AB Holdings also owns Net1 in Sweden and Denmark.
AINMT Scandinavia Holdings AB* has during the last week raised a SEK 1.5 billion bond which was heavily oversubscribed. The company will apply to be listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange during 2014. Pareto, DnB and Swedbank acted as lead managers for the process. Investors subscribing in the bond are primarily from Scandinavian countries, UK and USA.
“The interest level in the bond was high because of our current position as a strong third player in the Norwegian market and because we have secured the frequencies in the 800, 900 and 1800 MHz bands. The bond significantly strengthens our business and flexibility,” says CEO in AINMT Holdings AB, JD Fouchard.
Ice Communication Norge AS won frequencies in the 800, 900 and 1800 MHz bands of in the Post and Telecommunications Authority’s 4G auction in December 2013.
