ice group: 500,000 customers in Norway
23 May 2018 - ice group's Norwegian operation, ice, reaches 500,000 customers and confirms its challenger position in the Norwegian telecom market.
"We started as a mobile voice and data operator in 2015 and have since experienced significant growth. We believe this customer growth confirms that we provide attractive products and customer service, and that the market needs a challenger to the Norwegian mobile phone duopoly. But this is only a milestone. Our ambition is to increase our market share further in the coming years, by continuing to challenge the major players," says Eivind Helgaker, managing director of ice in Norway.
Since ice launched its smartphone offering mid-2015, the company has challenged its competitors with competitive prices and new products that benefit customers. Amongst other things, ice was the first operator to introduce automatic data rollover and the first to facilitate so-called rollover sharing, which allows customers to share surplus data with whoever they want.
"It is obvious that people have craved transparent price structures and products, and are fed up with hidden prices, costs and charges. That is why Norwegian customers come to ice," says Helgaker.
Approximately 415,000 of ice's customers are mobile voice and data customers, while the remaining 85,000 are mobile broadband customers.
